A Time Travel | Samcheongdong

I'm definitely the kind of person who loves anything with a vintage touch: old streets, ancient palaces, anything related to the old times.
In Seoul, it's not only about the shining K-pop stars or endless shopping streets (they are a big attraction indeed). Places that preserve the original, traditional traits of Korea is where I truly enjoy every time I take a visit to.

Random snapshot taken in front of someone's house

Samcheongdong is a unique place where the old meets the new. Samcheong ("sam" means three and "cheong" means clean) was given its name regarding to the three abundant elements this place holds: clean water, beautiful neighbouring mountains and kind-hearted residents.
Walking along Samcheongdong, the harmonising combination of Hanok (Korean traditional houses), modern galleries, special restaurants and cafes is what makes it especially attractive.

Loving the brick walls of the palace

This afternoon, I decided to rent Hanbok (Korean traditional clothes) and walk around the street as the people long ago did. This was not my first time trying Hanbok, but my first time wearing it in public which was a fresh experience.
I simply walked without a destination, into every small lane I saw and cherished the moment. Surrounded by all the traditional houses, I suddenly felt like a time traveller on her journey back to the good old days.

These days, Hanbok-wearing tour has become more and more popular among both the Korean themselves and the tourists. There is a variety of Hanbok rent shops to choose from, you can try on the prettiest clothes with just a teenie bit of renting fee. Also, you get a free entrance to all the ancient palaces (e.g. Gyeongbokgung) if you wear Hanbok!

Or maybe get lost in the alleys and find a little traditional tea shop out of nowhere, relax and feel the beauty of traditional Korea.

I hope you enjoyed my little tour around this charming place. Would you like to try out Hanbok someday? Leave me in the comments below, have a great day!

Little Update!

First day of school in front of Korea University.
Hello lovely people, I seriously cannot believe it is almost the end of July already. It's half past eleven now but I really want to just randomly write down a short post cause I've been gone for so long.
My summer vacation started last month and I've came back to Taiwan for a few weeks now. The weather is unbearably hot here.. I kind of want to go back to Korea already.

Speaking of school, over the past four months I've been living my life in a total different way compared to what I used to be. I'd say the whole semester was so much better than I thought it would be. Made lovely friends, participated in all kinds of activities, and I also have a regular music club practice every Tuesday and Thursday which takes up a huge part of my school life. Stay tuned for my future posts about what club I joined and all fun stuffs I've encountered at school!
So.. yeah, I seriously feel so bad for not posting in forever, really need to put myself together and stop being a lazy butt.
Are you guys having a great summer? Hope you have a great day!
